Just yesterday I found out my memoir Blissful Thinking: A Memoir of Overcoming the Wellness Revolution has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, which means I get to say Pushcart Prize nominee forever. I'm so chuffed about this, that fact alone could be my whole bio. But wait, there is more.

I'm also an award-winning screenwriter (watch My Dinner With Steve here) and the author of two memoirs including American Lady Creature: A Feminist Reckoning in Qatar. (NPR said, “It’s like Eat, Pray, Love, only funny.” | Buy that one here.)

I was once simultaneously the religion editor for an LGBTQIA+ paper, dating columnist for an alt newsweekly, and bridal editor for a society rag. My writing has appeared in The Rumpus, Shondaland, Insider and The Washington Post among numerous other outlets. If you can believe it, I'm currently a guest host for the Home Shopping Network, and longtime host of the storytelling show, True Stories.

Get the best of what I share plus loads more opportunity to interact on my Substack, Ill-Behaved Women.

I write entertaining stories that sneak up on you. FLORIDA GIRLS, about a troupe of swimsuit models on a war bond tour who take on the Tampa mafia, is out now.
